Members of the Month

John and Greta Szuhay

John and Greta Szuhay, who live in Thornburg, have been members of our church for about 40 years.

Before retiring, John worked as a district manager of steel sales. Greta worked as an elementary school teacher.

Over the years John has served as an elder for our church and both have been Sunday school teachers.

They have 4 sons and 6 grandchildren.

John says his favorite hymn is “Amazing Grace,” while Greta likes “In The Garden.” In the Bible, one of John’s favorite passages is 1 Corinthians 16:2: “On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper.” A particularly meaningful verse for Greta is Psalm 27:13: “I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.”

In his spare time John likes to read historical novels, and Greta enjoys her family life activities.
