Kathy Dold and Derek Martin

Kathy and Derek live in Green Tree. Kathy grew up in Blairsville. After she graduated from high school, she moved to Pittsburgh to attend business school. After completing business school, she chose to stay in the city and has been here for 30 years.

Kathy has been employed at Falconbridge U.S., Inc. (a sales office for raw nickel and cobalt products) for 26 years. She started as a clerk typist, and now works in Sales Administration.

Derek is a junior at Keystone Oaks High School. He participates in the marching band, steel band, and advanced choir. He also loves performing in the school musicals.

Kathy and Derek have been coming to our church for 12 years. She decided it was important to give Derek the same upbringing she had, and so she enrolled Derek in Sunday school when he was 4 years old.

Kathy has served as a deacon and presently as an elder. She serves on the Outreach Commission and enjoys serving dinners at the Northside homeless shelter.

Derek has taken part in the summer mission trips, and has really enjoyed them. He attends some of the youth group activities. Derek and Kathy have both enjoyed the All-Church retreats at Crestfield.

Kathy comes from a large family. Her parents still live in Blairsville and she has five siblings. Kathy’s husband is Steve, and he has two grown sons.

Although Kathy likes many different hymns, one of her favorites is “How Great Thou Art.” Her favorite Bible verse is John 3:16. Derek’s favorite part of the Bible is Proverbs.

Kathy says that her hobby is talking. She also enjoys her camp and reading.

Derek plays bass in his own band. He also plays drums. Derek also enjoys playing basketball.
