MEMBER OF THE MONTH
NANCY CONBOY

Nancy
Conboy has been a member of our church since
1968. A resident of the Sheraden section of Pittsburgh, Nancy worked for 34
years as a nurse at Allegheny General Hospital, serving in
the progressive care unit at the end of her career. In retirement, Nancy has continued
to do some home health care.
Nancy has been very
involved in the life of our church. She
was ordained as a deacon in 1970, and she became an elder six years ago. Nancy serves as the chair
of the Congregation Life Commission, which is responsible for such things as
the fellowship lunches, the church picnic, and the congregation’s stewardship
program. Nancy sings in the
church choir. She helped cooked meals
for Youth Club for 2 years, and she is active with the new CAMP senior program,
helping to lead the craft activities.
Nancy has been a
part of the ICTUS (Ingram Crafton Thornburg United in Song) choir since it was
formed.
Nancy has two
children. Alicia lives with her in Sheradan and Scott and his wife Susan live in Greentree. Her
brother Tom lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his
wife Andrea and their children Erin and Tommy.
Nancy also has a niece and two nephews in Burgettstown, near to where
she grew up in Cross Creek Village. The church that Nancy attended as a
child there recently celebrated its 225th anniversary.
Nancy’s favorite
hymn is “It Is Well With My Soul.” When
asked to name her favorite part of the Bible, she named Romans 5:3-5.
In
her spare time, Nancy likes doing
crafts, singing, and helping seniors. Nancy commented, “I
enjoy people.”
