MEMBER OF THE MONTH – JOHN FERGUSON

John Ferguson has been a member of our church for more than 20 years.  A resident of Ingram, John works for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare.  In his spare time, John has completed EMT training, which he uses as part of the Ingram ambulance service.  John is responsible for driving the ambulance.

In our church, John currently serves as an elder and as the chair of the Worship Commission.  He participates in the adult Sunday school class, and each week he helps to coordinate the acolytes and offering collectors.  John has previously served as a deacon.

John’s wife, Margaret, works as the librarian at Ingram Elementary School.  His son Jonathan is taking courses at CCAC and works at Marian Manor Nursing Home.  Son Joshua was married this past year to Emily, and they now live in Crafton.  Son Christopher is part of the 171st Air Re-fueling Wing of the Pennsylvania Air National Guard.

John says that his favorite hymns include “Holy, Holy, Holy,” “Silent Night” and “Amazing Grace.”  His favorite Bible passage is the 23rd Psalm.

John enjoys reading, particularly books dealing with history.  For 12 years, John was deeply involved with the Montour marching band parents organization.  John and his family have a dog and three cats.
