MEMBER OF THE MONTH – ELIZABETH ANN COCHRAN

Elizabeth Ann Cochran, and her husband Brent, have been residents of the Oakwood neighborhood for 57 years.  In 1947 they became members of the First Presbyterian Church of Crafton, which eventually merged with  the Bradford Avenue

United Presbyterian Church, to form our current Crafton United Presbyterian Church.

Elizabeth Ann worked for 8 years in the kitchen at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh.  For the first 2 years, she worked there as a volunteer because she liked cooking and wanted to learn from the chefs.  Previous to that, Elizabeth Ann had done some catering work.

She has been married to Brent for 63 years.  Brent worked as a consulting engineer, particularly in the field of power plant construction.

For many years, Elizabeth Ann Cochran served as a wedding consultant in the church, helping brides and grooms arrange their ceremonies.  She also taught children’s Sunday School, and she is an active member of the Presbyterian Women.  Brent has served as a trustee.

Elizabeth Ann likes to travel, having visited many countries around the world.  Many of her journeys have been to Europe and the Orient.

She likes the hymn “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” and she enjoys the New Testament.  Her favorite color is purple.

Elizabeth Ann and Brent have two children – Janet and Christopher.  In addition, they have 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
