MEMBERS OF THE MONTH – CONNIE, BRIDGETTE AND JOSHUA DEICHLER

 

            The Deichlers live in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh.  Connie, who works for the accounting firm of Green and Bridges, has been a part of our church since she was in 3rd grade.  Connie currently serves as an elder and a member of the Worship Commission.  In the past, Connie has been a deacon, taught Sunday School, helped with Vacation Bible School and Youth Club, served on the Congregational Life Committee and took part in the church’s youth group when she was growing up.

            Bridgette and Josh are twins.  They are 14 and are 8th grade students at Greenway Middle School.  They both took part in Confirmation Class last year and became members of the church.

            Bridgette’s involvement in the church includes her participation in the PYC youth group, Worship Commission, Nominating Committee, teaching the pre-school Sunday School class, taking part in youth group mission trips, serving as a liturgist, playing the piano for worship services and helping with Vacation Bible School.

Josh takes part  in PYC,  has served as a liturgist, has participated in summer mission trips, attends Sunday School and has helped with Youth Club and Vacation Bible School.  Josh is also responsible for filling the pop machine that is downstairs near Fellowship Hall.

            When asked to name their favorite hymns, Connie chose “In The Garden,“ Bridgette selected “I Love You, Lord” and Josh named “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”

            As far as their favorite Bible passages, Connie cited the Beatitudes in Matthew, Bridgette favored the 23rd Psalm and Josh preferred John 3:16.

            In their spare time, Connie likes to play the piano; Bridgette plays the piano and does rubber stamping; and Josh likes to swim and play soccer.

            The family pets include Daisy the dog and Dusty the cat.
