Bill and Mid Davis

 

            Bill and Mid Davis have been married for 45 years, and they have spent almost 37 of those years in the Pittsburgh area.  They moved to Pittsburgh in 1968 after having lived in Johnstown for 8 ˝ years.  Bill and Mid lived in Oakwood until 1988 when they moved to the Cloverleaf Estates West in Collier Township.

            Bill retired from US Airways in 1993 after working for them for 35 years.  Mid worked at Westwood Elementary School for 11 years.  For the past 14 years she has worked as a part-time teller for PNC Bank in Mt. Lebanon.

            Bill and Mid joined our church 36 years ago.  They have both served as elders, deacons, Sunday School teachers, and helped with Youth Club.  Bill has been on the Worship, Christian Education, and Outreach Commissions.  Mid continues to serve on the Christian Education Commission.  She is also currently our church’s financial secretary.

            Bill and Mid have four children – three daughters and one son.  They also have four grandsons and one granddaughter.

            When asked to name a favorite hymn, Mid chose “In The Garden,” and they both like “The Old Rugged Cross.”  In the Bible, Mid likes John 3:16, and they both enjoy the 23rd Psalm.

            In his spare time, Bill enjoys playing chess and reading mystery stories.  Mid likes to do rubber stamping and enjoys all crafts.

            Over the years Bill and Mid had a various assortment of pets, but now they have one 18-year-old cat named Magic.
