MEMBER OF THE MONTH–RHODA BOYD

Each month we are highlighting a different church member.  This month, meet Rhoda Boyd!  Rhoda was born in Sewickley, raised her children in Crafton and now resides in Ingram.  She has been a member of our church since 1948, fifty-five years.    Rhoda has actively participated in the church over the years, including service as a deacon, an elder, a member of the choir and has served on various committees.  She still attends Sunday School and Bible Study and is a member of the Women’s Association, Miriam Circle and the JULIETs.  When Rhoda leaves Sunday School, she always re-enters the church through the narthex, so she can greet people by shaking their hands.

Rhoda and her deceased husband John have three children:  Mary Elizabeth, Jeanne and John Robert.  She is a grandmother seven times and a great-grandmother four times.

Rhoda worked for 24 years for Gulf Oil as a secretary in their law department.

Rhoda enjoys reading, playing Bridge, classical music, golf, bowling and spending time with her cat, Arthur.

Rhoda indicated that “Breathe On Me Breath Of God” is her favorite hymn, and she noted that Micah 6:8 is particularly meaningful to her.  Her “thought for the day” is “Everyone smiles in the same language.”
